Objective The ventilator is an emergency rescue and treatment device. In order to better ensure the operation of the ventilator, effectively fight against the coronavirus disease 2019 epidemic, improve its safety performance and effectively treat patients. Methods In this study, relevant literatures were consulted to strengthen ventilator maintenance and information management, and through the analysis of ventilator functional structure, routine maintenance and failure repair cases. Results The functions of medical device engineers had changed, from simple maintenance to quality management.Through daily maintenance and management of ventilators, the failure rate of ventilators had been reduced. At the same time,it had also improved in terms of ventilator purchase demonstration, acceptance, damage reporting and economic benefited analysis. Conclusion In order to improve the quality of medical device management, effective measures should be taken to ensure the clinical logistics support, and establish a medical device management mode with quality management as the core and maintenance as the basis.
