Objective To understand the social support, mental health and post-traumatic growth of hospitalized patients with fractures, and to analyze the relationship among them,in order to provide effective interventions for clinical practice. Methods The social support, mental health and post-traumatic growth of 268 inpatients with fractures were investigated by Social Support Rate Scale(SSRS),Symptom Self-rating Scale(SCL-90)and Post-traumatic Growth Inventory(PTGI),and Pearson correlation analysis was conducted to explore the relationship between social support and mental health and post-traumatic growth. Results The total scores of SSRS,SCL-90 and PTGI were 29.76±4.53,13.08±2.69 and 50.17±9.89 respectively. The total score of SSRS was negatively correlated with the total score of SCL-90 and the scores of its all dimensions of inpatients with fractures(P<0.05),and was positively correlated with the total score of PTGI and the scores of its all dimensions(P<0.05).Conclusions Inpatients with fractures have average social support and low level of post-traumatic growth.Strengthening social support of inpatients with fractures can promote patients’post-traumatic growth and improve their mental health.
