Based on the multi factor data of NCEP R-2 reanalysis from 1979 to 2018,this paper makes a comprehensive analysis of the global land surface dry and wet degree. The results show that the variation trends of soil moisture, potential evaporation, sensible heat flux, latent heat flux and precipitation show that the global continent as a whole shows a trend of“dry gets drier and wet gets wetter”,and the“dry gets drier”in northern Africa,Western Asia and Central Asia and the“wet gets wetter”in central North America and western South America are more significant,This is consistent with the views of the IPCC fifth Assessment Report. In addition, there is a significant“dry gets wetter”trend in the east of Northwest China,Western Australia and some parts of South America; There is a significant“wet gets drier”trend in the southern Balkash, eastern Australia and the western end of North America. The reversal of“dry gets wetter”and“wet gets drier”may have a great impact on the ecological changes of the mainland, and its formation reason is worth studying deeply.
