摘要
从边缘城市产业的集聚方向切入,采用2003年至2015年179个边缘城市的面板数据,检验产业专业化集聚和多元化集聚对边缘城市崛起的影响作用。结论表明,边缘城市产业专业化集聚度越高越容易崛起。采用边缘城市坡度与边缘城市新成立的公司数交互项为产业专业化集聚的工具变量,有效解决了内生性问题。距离异质性检验发现距离核心城市超过200km后,边缘城市更应当选择“独善其身”的产业专业化集聚;城市规模异质性检验显示产业专业化集聚对于城市规模在50万-100万人口之间的城市影响作用最大。从要素积累效应进行机制分析,产业专业化集聚主要发挥劳动力蓄水池和创新要素共享的作用。从产业集聚方向的外部性分析,边缘城市产业专业化集聚促进本地城市崛起,而两种产业集聚方向都对边缘城市的邻近城市带来负向溢出效应。
Based on the panel data of 179 cities from 2003 to 2015,this paper studies the role of agglomeration specialization and agglomeration diversification in the rise of periphery cities.The conclusion shows that the higher the concentration of industrial agglomeration specialization in periphery cities,the more likely periphery cities are to rise.Using the interaction term between the slope of the edge city and the number of newly established firms in the periphery cities as an instrumental variable for industrial agglomeration specialization,the problem with endogeneity is effectively addressed.The further heterogeneity test reveals that if the core city is more than 200 km away from this periphery city,this periphery city should choose agglomeration specialization,and the city size heterogeneity test shows that agglomeration specialization has the greatest effect on the cities with a population between half million and one million.In terms of the factor accumulation effect for mechanism analysis,industrial agglomeration specialization mainly plays the role of the labor pool and innovation factor sharing.The agglomeration externalities show that industrial agglomeration specialization in periphery cities promotes the rise of local cities,while the both forms of industrial agglomeration of the periphery city bring negative spillover effects to the neighboring cities.
