摘要
文化或学术流派的核心术语是其认识精神构式和样态的自我身份宣示,是先贤们在思考各自文化或学派与它者的关系与差异时提出的核心概念,而其精神构式和知性体系皆围绕这些核心术语演绎与阐释,以此明确自我学术体系身份归属。那么如何在跨文化跨语际翻译中体现中华精神文化的核心术语的这种精神构式、样态和身份就成了翻译中绕不过去的坎。本文基于语言哲学有关主项词自身给不出自身概念意义的理论义理,以儒家思想体系核心术语“君子”作为案例研究,论证了“君子”何以可以音译,而且应该音译的认识论义理和意义。这不仅涉及中国特色话语外译中话语体系建构、规范中华文化思想经典核心术语外译的语言行为的关怀,而且对于建构中华文化术语体系和表征形态,使中华文化走向世界、为解决人类面临的问题给出中国答案,具有重要的理论与现实意义。
The key terms of given culture or given academic school is the self-identity announcement of the epistemological schema and modality of given culture or school,and they are the unique terms proposed by earlier masters who considered the relations and differences of their own cultures or schools with or from others.Around these key terms are the presentations,deductions and interpretations of the spiritual schema,modality and intellectuality system of different cultures and schools,by which to indicate their differences in academic identity and system.Therefore,in interculture and interlanguage translation how to stick to these unique key terms with their own difference in spiritual schema and intellectuality modality becomes a threshold that had to get around.This paper,based on the theoretical proposition that the substance can not indicate its own conceptual connotation in language philosophy,expounds why“君子”,a key term in Confucianism,can or should be transliterated,which bears an important theoretical and practical significance in both normalization of linguistic operation in translation of key terms of Chinese culture-and-thought classics and construction of Chinese-identity discourse system as well as the terminology system,so as to promote Chinese culture going world-ward and offering Chinese answers to universal problems that humans are faced with.
