Objective To explore the effect and application value of the descriptive classification method applied to outpatient nursing management. Methods A simple random sampling method was used to include 32 outpatient nursing staff as the research objects. From January to December 2018, the descriptive taxonomy management was not implemented, and they were set as the reference group. From January 2019 to January 2020, the descriptive taxonomy management was implemented, and they were set as the management group. The data of nursing activities score(NAS), nursing level, occurrence of adverse events and management satisfaction during the management period of the two groups were processed and analyzed by statistics. Results The scores of nursing activities in the management group such as health care, activity and position, management and infusion, patient and family support and nursing, administration and business management work were significantly higher than those of the reference group, the difference was statistically significant(P < 0.05). The nursing technique score, nursing attitude score and nursing quality score of the management group were significantly higher than those of the reference group, the difference was statistically significant(P < 0.05). The incidence of adverse events such as accidental injury, nursing errors, nurse-patient disputes, and complaints in the management group was 6.25%, which was significantly lower than 25.00% in the reference group, the difference was statistically significant(P < 0.05). The satisfaction of outpatient nurses in the management group was significantly higher than that in the reference group, the difference was statistically significant(P < 0.05). Conclusion The application of descriptive classification in outpatient nursing management can improve nursing activities and nursing level during the management period, reduce the occurrence of various adverse events, and make nursing staff more satisfied. It is recommended to be preferred.
