This celadon-glazed handled ewer from Yue Kiln of Northern Song Dynasty unearthed from the Qinglong Town site was seriously damaged.About one third of its rim was missing;its ribbon pattern handle and spout also had missing parts. The value of rele-vant exhibition, research and preservation was seriously affected. The conventional resto-ration through plaster molding often causes secondary damage to cultural relics.By using 3D scanning and printing technology, the damaged areas can be digitalized with data, and then complementary parts that fill into the missing areas and meet the requirements of res-toration of cultural relics can be printed out. With the use of the conventional ancient ceram-ic restoration and coloring technology, the damaged celadon-glazed handled ewer from Yue Kiln was preserved and restored. This piece of cultural relics had its appearance restored and regained the stable state of cultural relics, laying the foundation for future research and exhibition.
