论尼尔·波兹曼媒介理论的美学向度

摘要 尼尔·波兹曼(Neil postman)媒介批评理论由“童年的消逝”“娱乐至死”和“技术垄断”等核心观点构成。这些观点涵盖了他对审美经验和西方人文主义危机的反思,它们既是对康德“游戏无功利性”、法兰克福学派大众文化批判等人文精神的延续,又为当下提供一套反现代性的美学体认路径。结合其后期著作《通往未来的过去——与十八世纪接轨的一座新桥》来看,媒介作为语境、技术理性异化、审美视知觉和反现代性等问题的探析,都是波兹曼媒介理论体系重要的美学立场呈现。波兹曼的媒介批评理论是对十八世纪启蒙精神的深刻延续,这种“媒介中的美学”价值理性重构的人文立场,体现出当代西方知识分子一以贯之的生命哲学关怀。 Neil Postman’s media theory consists of such core assertions as“the disappearance of childhood”,“entertainment to death”and“technology monopoly”.These viewpoints include his thoughts on aesthetic experience and the crisis of western humanism.They are not only the continuation of aesthetic theory of“game is not utilitarian”and mass culture criticism,but also provide a set of cultural poetics aesthetic recognition path for the present.From the perspective of Postman’s later work The Past to the Future,rational alienation,aesthetic experience and anti-modernity aesthetic analysis are all necessary elements for the integrity of his media aesthetic theory system.Postman’s media theory can be regarded as the aesthetic reflection mirror of the ritual and landscape of daily life in the TV age which reveals the structure of media culture.
