沙龙作为各种新思想和新文化的交流传播中心,在启蒙运动中扮演着重要的角色。沙龙女主人作为沙龙的组织者,是整个沙龙的核心人物。沙龙的场所由女主人提供,宾客和话题由女主人决定,女主人甚至对当时男性的事业及社会地位起到了决定性作用。作为沙龙中的倾听者和协调者,她们通过观察和倾听沙龙中的讨论提升思维能力和礼仪修养,通过和有识之士沟通交流进一步完善自己的学识与能力。女主人们通过沙龙这一媒介积极参与社会政治生活,对法国语言、文学和思想传播产生了重要影响,揭开了女性社会角色的新篇章。同时,沙龙作为启蒙运动时期法国女性教育的重要场所,促进了法国女性教育的发展。
Salon,a center of exchanging new ideas and disseminating new cultures,has played a vital role in the French Enlightenment.In a salon,the hostess usually was the organizer and the soul,who provided the space,invited the guests and chose the topics.Back then,salon hostesses could even have a final say in a man’s career or his social status.As the coordinators of the salons,they improved their thinking ability and etiquette by listening to the salon conversations.Those French women aspired to communicate with the visionary and the learned for a higher level of intellect.The hostess’s active participation in social and political life through the media of Salon,had an important influence on the spread of French language,literature and ideas,and opened a new chapter in women’s social role.At the same time,as an important place for French women’s education in the Enlightenment,salon has boosted the development of women’s education.
