摘要
姚培谦,清初著名学者,世居浙西,六世祖姚璋始徙居金山五保,诗礼相承,人文代出,遂为金山望族。其宗由南宋始祖姚秀一至清之姚培谦,凡一十四世,其间以文章显名、以事功知著、以道德称扬者代不乏人。尽管姚氏族人穷通各异,显晦或殊,但向学尚志立德的家风未尝稍怠,这些对姚培谦的立身处世、为文治学皆有影响。培谦中年遭受狱灾,释后再无心用世,而专意著述,其学术文章为时所重,名山之业已自不朽。
Yao Peiqian was a famous scholar in the early Qing Dynasty.His family lived in the west of Zhejiang from generation to generation and then moved to Wubao Township of Jinshan County since Yao Zhang,the sixth ancestor of his generation.His clansman insisted on learning poetry and etiquettes for generations.As a result,his family became a famous family in Jinshan.The family,from the first Yao Xiuyi in the Southern Song Dynasty to Yao Peiqian in the Qing Dynasty,had a total of 14 generations and some of them were good at literature and achieved outstanding achievements,and some were praised for their noble morality.Although some of Yao’s family members were proud and some were down,they loved learning,set up lofty ideals,and attached importance to improving personal cultivation,which positively impacted Yao Peiqian’s conduct,writing and learning.When Yao Peiqian was middle-aged,he was innocent and put in prison.After his release,he was no longer in the mood to pursue fame but devoted himself to learning.The people highly valued his scholarship and his literary works at that time and therefore he made a memorable and lasting achievement.
