摘要
笔者新近在梅兰芳纪念馆发现胡适与梅兰芳互致对方的两封书信手稿原件,其内容涉及梅、胡二人商询访苏之筹备事宜。两封书信尚属首次发现,史料文献价值很高,可视为胡适与梅兰芳交往的一手材料,足证梅兰芳与胡适交往关系的递进及胡适在梅兰芳访苏的整个筹备过程中所起到的重要作用,亦可看出新旧文化人、戏剧人思想观念在时代和历史变局中的冲突与互融。以胡适为代表的新青年在新旧戏剧论争中对旧剧施以"谩骂",在梅兰芳访日过程中,引起日本学者的关注。随着梅兰芳访日的成功,访美筹备亦提上议程,胡适与梅兰芳建立起友谊,推助中国戏曲在美进行跨文化传播。1935年梅兰芳访苏,作为梅兰芳信任的友人,胡适参与到行程的筹备之中,起到了重要作用。
The author recently discovered two original manuscripts of letters between Hu Shi and Mei Lanfang in the Mei Lanfang Memorial Hall,in which Mei Lanfang discussed his preparation of the visit to the Soviet Union with Hu.It is the first time that the two letters,regarded as firsthand materials for the interaction between Hu Shi and Mei Lanfang and of high value,have been found.It proves how the friendship is established and how Hu,as a trusted friend,has contributed to Mei’s successful visit to the Soviet Union.It also shows how new and old ideas conflicts and merges in cultural and theatrical studies.The"New Youth",including Hu Shi,engaged in heated discussion on the deficiency of traditional Chinese operas compared with the new Chinese operas,which attracted attention from the Japanese scholars during Mei’s visit to Japan.After the Japanese visit,Mei started to prepare another visit to the United States.The friendship between Hu and Mei and their frequent communication,not only plays an important role in organizing a tour to the Soviet Union in 1935,but also promotes the cross-cultural communication of Chinese opera in the United States.
