"You Wen Bi Lu" is not a pretext and excuse designed by modern journalists for false news, rather, it is a"occupational right" to freely collect and record information won over by journalists. Journalists defined "You Wen Bi Lu" as court historians collecting folk stories and official historians keeping records, and integrated the principle of"Yi Yi Chuan Yi" excised by historians into the publicity and application of "You Wen Bi Lu". Propelled by cultural identity and practice, "You Wen Bi Lu" began to be acknowledged inside and outside the industry since the 1880s, and was taken as "a bounden duty of newspaper publisher" in the early 20 th century. The rise of "You Wen Bi Lu" marks the start of modern Chinese journalists to actively construct the knowledge hierarchy of journalism, and it takes a step of the tentative exploration of the professionalization of Chinese journalism.
