摘要
叙事解读是阅读文学作品的一种重要方式,它主要包括对文学作品的情节、人物、背景、思想主题、情感等方面的深度理解。作为美国南方文学的代表人物,威廉·福克纳在叙事视角、叙事时间及语言选择方面的技巧受到业界广泛关注和推崇,其代表作《我弥留之际》对聚焦叙事手法进行了大胆的探索和创新。通过对热拉尔·热奈特和申丹两位学者聚焦叙事的分析可以发现,福克纳在这部小说中运用几种叙事方法——零聚焦叙事、内聚焦叙事、外聚焦叙事以及内外聚焦叙事,深刻而全面地刻画了小说人物的性格特点、意识活动以及人物之间复杂的情感关系。
Narrative interpretation is an important way of reading literary works,which mainly includes the in-depth understanding of the plot,characters,background,thoughts,themes and emotions in literary works.As a representative of American Southern Literature,William Faulkner′s writing skills in narrative perspective,narrative time and linguistic choice have been widely noted and praised by other scholars,and he has made a bold exploration and innovation on the techniques of focalized narrative in his masterpiece As I Lay Dying.Based on Gerard Genette′s and Shen Dan′s classifications of focalized narrative,it can be found through analysis that William Faulkner uses?zero focalization,internal focalization,external focalization and the multiple shifts between internal focalization and external focalization in this novel,thus deeply and comprehensively depicting different characters′personality characteristics,consciousness activities and the complex emotional relations among the characters.
