As an innovative work of a new director Jai Ling,Hi Mom,has become a dark horse during the spring festival season with its soaring box office.The film tells the story of Jia Xiaoling,who accidentally travels back into 1981and helps her mother of youth change her life after a serious traffic accident.For the director,the film is an artistic compensation for the reality in the form of a heterotopia,making up for the loss that Jia Ling feels when her mother passed away in reality.For the audience,the use of the nostalgic elements of the last century in the film has succeeded in arousing the collective memory.After its release,the film also leads to an online activity with the name of“Post My Li Huanying”,setting off a wave of online users sharing photos of their mothers,allowing everyone an opportunity to cherish their own mother’s love.As a phenomenal piece of work,the film successfully forms a bonded community with the help of comedic forms and the value of family love.The private emotion is broadened to the collective laugh and the tear,making the film receive high praise widely.
