The editors and publisher of Infectious Microbes&Diseases have retracted the article“CRISPR-Cas9 System:a Revolutionary Tool in the Fight Against Antimicrobial Resistance”by Ekwebelem O,Aleke J,Ofielu E,and Nnorom-Dike O,1 following a complaint of suspected plagiarism.After an internal investigation,substantial similarity was found with the article“CRISPR-based antimicrobials:gene-and pathogen-focused applications”,published by Sunderhauf D,Pursey E,and van Houte S in Infectious Disease Hub.2 After contacting the authors about this complaint,they were unable to provide sufficient justification for the similarity between these articles,and therefore the editors and publisher of Infectious Microbes&Diseases have decided to formally retract this article.Infectious Microbes&Diseases performs its due diligence to avoid plagiarism,but unfortunately,similarity with the article in question was not detected because full access to this article is restricted.
