摘要
根据语料库提取的数据,考察了数字式缩略语及其英译的分布。通过分析英译技巧的频率分布,发现两种报告受各自译者团队双语水平、翻译经验、跨文化交际水平等影响,中央政府工作报告中的数字式缩略语侧重使用意译技巧,而地方政府工作报告主要使用直译技巧。从传播效果来看,中央政府工作报告的翻译模式较为可取。此外,仿拟和借用两种翻译技巧在政府工作报告数字式缩略语的翻译中很少使用。
We investigated the translating pattern of Chinese numeral abbreviations into English by analyzing data extracted from a parallel corpus of Chinese-English.After analyzing the frequency distribution of different translation techniques,we found that due to the differences in bilingual proficiency,translation experience and inter-cultural communication,translators of central government work reports mainly rely on a concept-dominating pattern while translators of local government work reports on a word-dominating pattern.The former translation pattern may serve more effective communication than the latter.In addition,parody and borrowing are rarely used in translating numeral abbreviations in government work reports into English.
