摘要
四方四神汤方皆冠以灵兽之名,灵兽本代表固定方位,青龙代表东方,白虎代表西方,玄武代表北方,朱雀代表南方,各个方位有其五行所属及其对应之色,但经分析发现诸方之义不以灵兽五行属性的悖反或顺应为依据,无法用五行、五脏来说明,故而转从灵兽的起源之处——天文及四季入手。认为分析诸方当“舍弃”五行,从灵兽与季节在天文上的实际对应角度出发,发现诸方之功效与四季的气候特征呈相反关系,故而青龙属秋,青龙汤为温暖之剂;白虎属春,白虎汤具清热救燥之功;玄武属冬,真武汤(即玄武汤)可“破冰活水”;朱雀属夏,朱雀汤本为除湿热之方,然已散佚。
Sifang Sishen Formulas are named by spirit beasts,which represents the fixed direction,such as:Qinglong represents the East,Baihu represents the West,Xuanwu represents the North,Zhuque represents the South,and each direction attributes to one of the five elements and has the corresponding color.However,we found that the meaning of the formulas is not based on the attributes,which oppose or conform to the five elements,so that it cannot be explained by five elements and five zang-viscera.Therefore,according to the origin of spirit beasts,we can explain the formulas from the knowledge of astronomy and four seasons instead of the five elements.According to the actual connection between the spirit beasts and the season in astronomy,the effects of the various prescriptions are inversely related to the climatic characteristics of four seasons.Therefore,Qinglong belongs to autumn and Qinglong Decoction(青龙汤)is a warming prescription;Baihu belongs to spring and Baihu Decoction(白虎汤)has the function of clearing heat and treating dryness;Xuanwu belongs to winter,and Xuanwu Decoction(玄武汤)can“break ice and activate water”;Zhuque belongs to summer and Zhuque Decoction(朱雀汤)can clear damp-heat,but it has been already lost.
