Objective To evaluate the effect of continuous nursing intervention after discharge on the pulmonary function of elderly patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease(COPD)in order to improve the symptoms and signs of the elderly patients with COPD and improve their quality of life. Methods A total of 86 elderly patients with COPD who were admitted to our hospital from March 2018 to June 2019 were selected.Combined with nursing methods, elderly patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease were randomly divided into reference group and continuation group.43 cases in the reference group and 43 cases in the continuation group were treated with routine nursing in hospital, routine nursing in hospital+continuous nursing intervention. The self-efficacy score, pulmonary function index level and quality of life score of the elderly patients with COPD in the reference group and the continuation group were compared three months after discharge. Results The self-efficacy,quality of life index score and pulmonary function index level of elderly patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease in the continuation group were better than those in the reference group(P<0.05).Conclusion Routine nursing combined with continuous nursing intervention can improve the quality of life, lung function and self-efficacy of patients on the basis of regulating many behaviors of patients after discharge, and then promote the recovery of patients with COPD.
