面向数字驱动近眼显示器的位平面压缩技术

摘要 为提升用户体验,近眼显示设备应轻量化且具备高分辨率和高刷新率,传统视频压缩方案难以满足需求。针对这一问题,本文将运动估计应用于位平面压缩,将恰可察失真映射至位平面以指导运动估计的匹配准则。同时,从虚拟现实领域中数字驱动微显示器的应用场景出发,使运动估计的搜索范围根据刷新率自适应。最后,结合人眼临界频率与位平面的关系,设定匹配阈值进一步消除冗余。本文提出了一种基于位平面运动估计的视频压缩方案,以此设计数字驱动微显示器控制器并搭建系统验证设计。实验结果表明,该方案平均压缩比为9.3288,压缩效率较高。解码后的图片平均峰值信噪比为22.8103 dB,结构相似度为0.9466,恰可察失真到位平面的映射有效,图片质量和渲染效果良好,符合人眼的直观感受。 In order to improve the user experience,near-eye display devices should be lightweight and have high resolution and high refresh rate,which is difficult for traditional video compression solutions.To solve this problem,this paper applies the motion estimation to bit-plane compression,and maps just noticeable difference to the bit-plane to guide the matching criterion of motion estimation.At the same time,starting from the application scenarios of digitally driven microdisplays in the field of virtual reality,the search range of motion estimation is adapted according to the refresh rate.Finally,combining the relationship between the critical frequency of the human eye and the bit plane,a matching threshold is set to further eliminate redundancy.This paper presents a video compression scheme based on bit-plane motion estimation,designs a digitally driven microdisplay controller and builds a system verification design.Experimental results show that the average compression ratio of this scheme is 9.3288,the compression efficiency is high.The average peak signal-to-noise ratio of the decoded picture is 22.8103 dB,and the structural similarity is 0.9466.It can be seen that the mapping of the distortion to the bit plane is effective,and the picture quality and rendering effect are good,in line with the intuitive experience of the human eye.
