摘要
如何面对孔子之语言?既不落入西方诸多主义、理论、概念的陷阱之中,又能在今天的语境中重审或重现孔子语言之实质。可行的方法或许是,以敬慎的态度深入地厘清文本,以便重新进入孔子的语境之中,从而贴近其语言。研究发现,在相关文本精炼、深邃、感染性极强的表达中,孔子之语言既精微又广大。其语言不是逻格斯,它并不依靠推理,也不是为了解释世界,更不会抽象。而是敬恪往古圣王之言,并以之为典范,从而召唤人之所以为人的根据——德性。在语言的召唤之下,将人导向成德、成人乃至成圣的具体行动之中。当语言达成其使命之际,便自行隐退归于无言,至此,整个宇宙便化现为天德的恒久运动——道。最终,语言又重新显现,以全无意指的方式表现为对"天道"的赞叹。
How is it possible to understand the words of Confucius without falling into the trap of many Western doctrines,theories,and concepts in order to re-examine or reproduce the essence of his words in today’s context?One possible way might be the thorough clarification of the text with awe and deliberation in order to re-enter the context and get closer to his words.This study finds out that Confucius’ words are both subtle and broad in the concise,profound,and infectious expression of relevant texts.The words of Confucius are not Logos;they do not rely on reasoning,neither explaining the world nor being abstract.In contrast,they revere the words of ancient saints and take them as an example to summon virtue,namely the basis for people to be what they are.Under the call of his words,people are led to the concrete actions of becoming virtuous,becoming human and even becoming holy.When the task of his words is accomplished,they resign themselves into silence,and the whole universe is transformed into the eternal movement of heaven’s virtue,the Tao.The words of Confucius,in the end,appear again as the total unintentional expression of their admiration for "natural law".
