摘要
从韵律句法互动的视角分析普通话VP-NEG问句,可证明韵律和句法在其推导过程中的交互作用。首先,句法部门以VP-NEG-VP问句为基础结构进行省略操作,删除了否定词之后的VP,构成VP-NEG。然后,由汉语核心重音规则所衍生的"下边界限制"促发了否定词在PF部门移位至CP区域,以避免干扰核心重音的实现。这一方案既避免了纯句法分析的困境,也能够解释VP-NEG问句与其他正反问句之间的联系与区别。
It is argued that both syntax and prosody play a role in the derivation of Mandarin VP-NEG questions.Specifically,in narrow syntax,an ellipsis feature is merged to derive VP-NEG by deleting the second VP of VP-NEG-VP——its base structure.Then,motivated by Lower Edge Constraint,a rule derived from the Government-based Nuclear Stress Rule(G-NSR),NEG moves to the CP layer to stay away from the nuclear stress domain.From the perspective of prosody-syntax interaction,the above analysis avoids the problems confronting purely syntactic explanations and offers a principled account of the differences and similarities between VP-NEG and other A-NOT-A questions.
