Growing banana varieties with resistant(tolerant)to Fusarium wilt is one of the important means to prevent the spread of Fusarium wilt.Due to the differences of the growth characteristics and planting techniques of resistant varieties from traditional varieties, the promotion of new varieties is affected. In this study,‘Guikang2’,a new variety with banana fusarium wilt resistance, was tested in Hainan to investigate the agronomic, yield and disease resistance traits, which was helpful for the promotion of a new variety in Hainan. The results showed that the days of an annual cycle about’Guikang2’grown in Northern Hainan Island was 398 d,which was 44 d more than the control variety. Moreover, the growth rate of plant height, number of leaves and stem circumference was also significantly slower than that of the control. However, the main fruit characteristics such as number of hands, number of fingers, fruit weigh of 3 rdhand, fingers length, circumference were close to or better than the control varieties. The actual yield of ‘Guikang2’was significantly higher than that of the control, and its banana fusarium wilt(Foc4)resistance was significantly better than that of the control. So, ‘Guikang2’ was a new variety with resistant(tolerant)to Fusarium wilt and would be further to be promoted and grown in Hainan.
