摘要
凯尼斯·梅奖是国际数学史界最高荣誉。1989年,国际数学史学会为纪念著名数学家和数学史家凯尼斯·梅设立此奖,每四年颁发一次,截至2017年已颁发8次,共有来自11个国家的14位学者获此殊荣。从凯尼斯·梅和此奖的设立,简要叙述历届得奖者的生平和贡献,总结梅奖得主的学术素养与治学特点,以期为中国数学史学者提供借鉴与启示。
The Kenneth O.May Prize is the highest honour in the international history of mathematics.In 1989,the International Commission on the History of Mathematics established this prize which was issued every four years in memory of Kenneth O.May,a well-known mathematician and also a historian of mathematics.Up to 2017,this honour was awarded 8 times in total to 14 scholars from 11 countries.It starts with the discussion on Kenneth O.May and the establishment of this prize.Then it briefly presents the life and the contributions of the previous winners.The paper concludes with summarizing the academic accomplishments and features of the award winning scholars,in the hope of providing the historians of mathematics in China with references and inspirations.
