摘要
全球城市(Global City)研究关注现当代世界范围内主要城市在三个层面上的发展:全球城市网络的生成演化、全球城市本体的内在变化、全球城市的关键功能发展。开展全球城市研究需要庞大的信息量进行支撑。与世界范围内主要城市的发展相匹配,全球各主要高等院校与所在城市存在基本的共生关系,因此,开展全球城市研究过程中,高校图书馆对全球城市研究的信息需求满足有相当可能性。本文试图对全球城市研究的信息需求图谱进行分析,并从高校图书馆信息资源配置的角度,提出开展全球城市研究信息资源配置的基本构想。研究发现,在现当代条件下,全球城市研究的信息需求主要通过专业数据资源建设和泛在信息资源同时进行满足。高校图书馆在全球城市“功能”性领域和“内涵”性领域同时配置数据资源,将有利于所在院校专业人员对全球城市研究的介入。
Global City study focuses on the development of major cities over the world at three levels:the evolution of global city networks,the intrinsic changes in global cities,and the development of key functions of global cities.Conducting global city research requires a huge amount of information.With the development of major cities around the world,there are basic symbiotic relationships between major universities and cities.Therefore,in the process of conducting the global city study,there is a considerable possibility for university libraries to meet such information needs.This paper attempts to analyze the information demand map of global city study,and proposes the basic concept of global city information resource allocation from the perspective of university library.The study found that in the modern/contemporary world,the information needs of the global city study are mainly met through the construction of professional data resources and ubiquitous information resources.The simultaneous allocation of data resources by university libraries in the“functional”and“connotative”areas of global cities will be beneficial to the involvement of professionals in their universities in global urban research.
