当代首饰是个年轻的艺术类型,它发端于20世纪40年代的西方。传统首饰更多地代表权力、财富、彰显身份与地位,被当作身体外在的装饰物,而当代首饰则质疑和挑战传统,它不断地拓展,跨越首饰的定义,让首饰发展到一个前所未有的高度。以编织作为基础的当代首饰创作是-种独特的创作类型,将编织的工艺技法引入首饰创作领域,为首饰的创作带来新的审美。编织工艺有着悠久的历史,从地毯、容器、服装到首饰,应用非常广泛。编织工艺种类繁多,大致可以分为打结、缏饰、连结、弹簧、钩针编制、织布技术.针织、花边、编篮技艺等。首饰与编织工艺相结合是当代首饰创作的新理念。笔者在此将其创作方法总结为以下几点.
