摘要
根据哈贝马斯的公共领域理论、萨义德的知识分子论,回溯赛珍珠毕生的跨文化创作和社会活动,我们不难发现,作为一名横跨东、西方文化的公共知识分子,赛珍珠以其强力介入东西方公共场域的知识分子书写给予其“生而逢时”的宏大历史叙事背景以深广的回应,彰显了大时代背景下知识分子的良知、公义、担当,表现出令人激赏的政治远见和人文情怀。
Looking back on Buck's lifelong cross-cultural literary creation and social activities in the perspective of Habermas'theory of public sphere and Said's theory of intellectuals,we find that as a bicultural public intellectual,Pearl S.Buck,with her high-profile involvement in the public spheres of the East and the West through her compelling intellectual writing,gives a broad response to the grand historical narrative of the age she was born into.Her intellectual writing highlights the intellectual's conscience,righteousness,responsibility for the great era and shows her admirable political vision and humanistic feelings.
