Liu Zhiji has set up a permanent monument because of his Shi Tong.Shi Tong embodies Liu Zhiji’s progressive view of history,opposes fatalism and advocates personnel determinism.Liu Zhiji’s progressive view of literature is expressed by his opposition to distortion of the facts and strongly advocating writing down the truth.These show Liu Zhiji’s remarkable insight into history and noble virtue of historical study.Furthermore,Liu Zhiji commented on people and books comprehensively,Shi Tong has a great far-reaching influence on historiography and literature.
