Twenty years of aggregation-induced emission(AIE)research has witnessed the flourishing development of aggregate-related disciplines(ie,solid-state emitters).From photophysical mechanisms to structural frameworks and thence to functional applications,AIE systems possess many unique and superior characteristics compared to the traditional structures with detrimental aggregation-caused quenching(ACQ)effct.
