管理者海外经历与企业创新:影响与潜在机制

Managers’Overseas Experience and Enterprise Innovation:Influence and Potential Mechanism

摘要 使用我国沪深A股非金融上市公司2008-2016年的面板数据,实证检验了上市公司管理者海外经历对于企业创新的影响。研究发现,当企业的董事长拥有海外经历时,企业的创新投入强度更高。在控制内生性问题、排除替代性解释、替换解释变量等稳健性检验之后,这一结论依然成立。分样本的检验发现,管理者海外经历对于企业创新的促进作用在民营企业、非高科技行业和知识产权保护更好的地区的企业中更显著。机制检验的结果表明,海外经历通过知识与能力效应、海外社会网络效应、冒险文化效应促进了企业创新。基于引进海外人才有利于企业创新,应继续加大海归人才的引进力度,加大对新兴产业的扶持力度,企业通过引入并提拔海归人才走上管理岗位,提高创新能力。 Using the panel data of Shanghai and Shenzhen A-share non-financial listed companies from 2008 to 2016,this paper empirically tests the impact of managers’overseas experience on enterprise innovation.The results show that:when the chairman of an enterprise has overseas experience,the enterprise’s innovation investment intensity is higher.After controlling endogenous problems,eliminating alternative explanations and substituting explanatory variables,this conclusion still holds.The results of sub sample test show that the promotion effect of managers’overseas experience on enterprise innovation is more significant in private enterprises,non-high-tech industries and enterprises in regions with better intellectual property protection.The results of mechanism test show that overseas experience promotes enterprise innovation through knowledge and ability effect,overseas social network effect and risk culture effect.Based on the fact that the introduction of overseas talents is conducive to enterprise innovation,it is suggested that the government should continue to increase the introduction of overseas talents and increase the support for emerging industries.It is also suggested that enterprises should introduce and promote returnees to management positions to improve their innovation ability.
