In order to study the effects of alfalfa extract of different proportions on growth performance, nutrient apparent digestibility and fur quality of rabbits.60 Angolan rabbits with similar body weight were randomly divided into 4 groups, each with 3 replicates and 5 in each replicates. One group was fed with the basic diet as the control group. The experimental groups 2,3 and 4 were supplemented with 1.0%,2.0%and 3.0%alfalfa extract on the basis of the basic diet respectively. The experiment lasted for 7 days and 35 days. The results showed that:(1)The average daily gain of groups 3 and 4 was 20.0%and 18.6%higher than that of group 1,respectively(P<0.05),and the ratio of feed to gain was 9.4%and 8.2%lower than that of group 1.(2)The apparent digestibility of dry matter and acid washing fiber in groups 2,3 and 4 were higher than that in group 1(P>0.05),and the apparent digestibility of crude protein and neutral washing fiber in groups 3 and 4 were 9.5%,8.2%,11.8%and 9.1%higher than that in group 1(P<0.05).The hair length, skin thickness and skin area of groups 2,3 and 4 were all higher than those of group 1(P>0.05).The fur density of groups 3 and 4 was 8.0%and 6.8%higher than that of group 1(P<0.05).The conclusion showed that 2.0%alfalfa extract could improve the growth performance, apparent nutrient digestibility and fur quality of Angora rabbits.
