性别问题是《午夜之子》的重要问题。康奈尔和斯皮瓦克的性别理论有助于分析作品的性别政治问题,阐释作品颠覆了西方殖民主义意识形态。《午夜之子》揭示了后殖民的男性气质危机及父权焦虑,展现了性别权利的颠覆,对殖民主义意识形态提出深刻的批判。
Gender issue is one of Midnight’s Children’s important themes.By utilizing Connell and Spivak’s theory of gender theories,this essay reveals the novel’s gender politics,and presents Rushdie’s subversive strategy towards western colonial ideology.Midnight’s Children discloses postcolonial masculine crisis and patriarchal anxiety,shows the subversion of gender rights and strongly criticizes colonial ideology.
