摘要
功能语法视角下的主语探讨体现为识别标准和界定标准的统一,但这些标准在形式标记类主语气象"it"和存在"there"上只得到部分体现,导致主语问题争议不断。本文对功能语法视角下的主语进行重新审视,进而厘清主语争议的症结所在,并提出解决之道便显得尤为重要。研究表明,功能语法视角下主语研究的主要症结在于受制于亚氏经典范畴思想的谓词逻辑观,具体体现在谓词逻辑的变化性、概括性以及关联性三大方面,从而无法观照形式标记类主语这类理应属于主语范畴的边缘成员。基于原型范畴观思想,将通过附加问句识别的主语从主语选择序列或格角色层级角度重新界定为跨越典型性主语和非典型性主语的渐变群,可实现形式标记类主语在识别标准和界定标准上的统一。
The discussion of subject in functional grammar is embodied in the unity of identifying criterion and defining criterion,but only the former is reflected in formal marker subjects like meteorological it and existential there,which leads to controversies in issues like subject.Therefore,this paper reexamines the term subject in functional grammar to explore its categorical nature and puts forward solutions.The findings reveal that the main crux of subject-related researches in functional grammar lies in Aristotle’s classical category view,especially the predicate logic view and its three aspects like variability,generality,and connection,which fails to give full explanation to the peripheral members like formal marker subjects.Subject,based on the prototype theory,can be redefined as a cline ranging from a prototypical subject to a non-prototypical subject from the perspective of subject selection or case role hierarchy,thus making formal marker subjects fully meet both identifying criterion and defining criterion.
