梦境的描写是汤显祖戏曲的一个核心。而《牡丹亭》的梦境更是经典中的经典。汤显祖通过梦境的营造为杜丽娘提供机会寻找自我,展现真我,遇见本心潜在的欲望。同时,梦境与现实的来回变化又是《牡丹亭》整体剧情进行的动力。这才有了后面对柳梦梅抱有炽热之心的杜丽娘。那么,对于杜丽娘个人而言,梦境是其人物形象的重要转折点。
The description of dreams is a core of Tang Xian-zu’s operas. And the dream description in The Peony Pavilion is a classic. Through the creation of dreams, Tang Xian-zu provides an opportunity for Du Li-niang to find herself, to show her true self, and to meet the latent desires of her heart. At the same time, the back-and-forth change between dream and reality is the driving force of the overall plot of The Peony Pavilion. Then there was Du Li-niang, who had a burning heart for Liu Meng-mei. So, for Du Li-niang, the dream is an important turning point in her character.
