摘要
元话语是一种帮助作者组织语篇、表达其观点、实现与读者互动的话语策略。作为语篇分析领域的重要概念,元话语近年来备受关注。本文基于Hyland和Tse的元话语理论,采用定量和定性相结合的研究方法,以刘欣和Trish中美贸易辩论为例,对辩论语篇中的互动式元话语使用情况进行对比分析,并探讨了使用产生差异的原因,旨在加深对辩论这一体裁的言语功能及特征的认识,为辩论者在辩论中合理有效地利用互动式元话语以达到交际目的提供借鉴。
Meta-discourse is a linguistic devise used to help the author organize discourse,express his views on discourse,and make interaction with readers.As an important concept in the field of discourse analysis,meta-discourse has attracted increasing attention in recent years.This paper takes Hyland and Tse’s interactional meta-discourse as theoretical framework,Sino-American trade debate between Liu Xin and Trish as research data.By combining quantitative and qualitative research methods,the paper makes a comparative analysis on the similarities and differences in the use of interactional meta-discourse and focuses on the reason for differences,so as to deepen the understanding of linguistic functions and features in debate,and provide implications for debaters in properly using interactional metadiscourse with communicative purposes.
