摘要
在聋生高等教育课堂教学的手语翻译过程中,手语翻译员面临着很大的压力,时间紧迫且精神高度集中,既要把授课教师的讲话内容快速翻译给聋人学生,还需要把聋人学生的疑惑或者回答的问题口译给教师。这种情况下,“什么都翻译”是不切实际的,省略并不等于漏译或者误译。在Gile的认知负荷模型基础上,以摄影专业为例,探讨手语翻译员在信息量超过脑力负荷或听到多个不能“即听即译”的信息单位时,运用省略策略来保证核心信息的传译,有效提高主要信息的翻译质量,希望给手语翻译员一些启发和建议。
In the process of sign language translation in higher education classrooms for deaf students,sign language interpreters are facing great pressure.Under tighter time restraints,their spirits are highly concentrated.Not only do they need to quickly translate the content of the teacher’s speech to deaf students,but also they need to interpret deaf students’questions or ansutrs to the teachers.In this case,“translate everything”is impractical,and omission does not mean missed translation or mistranslation.This paper is based on Gile’s cognitive load model,taking photography specialty as an example,to explore the use of omission strategies for sign language interpreters when the amount of information exceeds the mental load or when they hear multiple information units that cannot be“listened and translated simultaneously”.To ensure the interpretation of the core information and effectively improve the translation quality of the main information,this paper aims to provide some enlightenment and suggestions to the sign language interpreters.
