Ding Ling's arrest in May 1933 sparked speculation. In the tug of war between rumors and anti-rumors,various publications constructed different even completely opposite images of“Ding Ling”.The memoir articles of Shen Congwen and Pengzi provided a relatively private interpretation of“Ding Ling”.The reason why“Ding Ling's death”received attention was closely related to Ding Ling's identity as a female writer. In the 1930s,female writers faced with the identity dilemma of the star-author-character trinity. As the keywords for imagining female writers in the 1930s,women,revolution,and writing were both media-loaded information and the medium itself that flooded the female writers.
