摘要
中国传统书院有着悠久的历史,曾为国家培养出许多优秀的人才。书院士子或通过科举考试成为政府官员;或通过精研学问成为著名学者,塑造了中华文脉。程朱理学和陆王心学是书院文化的杰出代表。以福州鳌峰书院为例,可见中国传统书院发挥着经世致用的社会功能:选拔人才,有利于政治统治;道德教化,有利于社会治理;慈善助学,有利于文化传播;藏书刊刻,有利于文化传承。
Chinese traditional academies,which have a long history,have cultivated many outstanding talents for the country.Some scholars passed the imperial examinations to become government officials;some became famous scholars through intensive research,shaping the Chinese context.Cheng Zhu's Neo-Confucianism and Lu Wang's theory of mind are outstanding representatives of academy culture.Taking Fuzhou Aofeng Academy as an example,Chinese traditional academies play a social function for humanistic pragmatism:Selecting talents is conducive to political governance;moral education is conducive to social governance;charity aid is conducive to cultural dissemination;book collection,publication and engraving is conducive to cultural inheritance.
