摘要
In Home by Marilynne Robinson, the protagonist Jack is a very complicated figure and a round person. This paper mainly focuses on studying one of Jack's intrinsic growth motivations, claiming that Jack's intrinsic growth motivation is the most important reason of his self-actualization. From the perspective of humanism, though the protagonist Jack suffers crowds of difficulties from harsh surroundings, eventually he realizes that his self-realization, his inner peace depends not on extrinsic powers, but more importantly on himself. To a certain extent, Jack reaches his self-actualization, and finally finds himself.
