摘要
本研究基于《欧洲语言共同参考框架》,通过自评的方法探究了英语专业基础阶段学生的英语语言能力现状。对某样本学校英语专业一年级和二年级学生的调查结果表明:(1)一年级学生整体语言水平刚刚达到B1等级,单项技能中阅读、口语会话和写作达到了B1等级,听力和口语表达达到了A2等级;(2)二年级学生整体语言水平达到了B1等级,但未能达到B2等级,单项技能中听力、口语会话和口语表达达到了B1等级,阅读和写作能力达到了B2等级。本文探讨了英语专业基础阶段学生语言能力现状的可能成因,以期为经济全球化背景下英语专业学生语言能力的提升提供一定启示,也为《中国英语能力等级量表》在英语教学与评估中的应用提供研究范式上的借鉴。
This study investigated English majors’ English language proficiency at the foundation stage using a self-assessment approach on the basis of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages:Learning,Teaching,Assessment (CEFR).Analysis of data from 75 freshmen and 71 sophomores of English majors from one sampled university reveals that (1) the general language proficiency of freshmen has just reached CEFR B1 level,with reading,spoken interaction and writing skills at B1 level,whilst listening and spoken production skills at a lower level,A2;(2) the general language proficiency of sophomores has already reached B1 level,but has not reached B2 level,with listening,spoken interaction and spoken production skills at B1 level,whilst reading and writing skills at B2 level.This paper discusses the possible factors influencing English majors’ language proficiency so as to provide practical implications for the improvement of their language proficiency in the context of globalization.It also provides methodological reference for the application of China’s Standards of English (CSE) to English language learning,teaching and assessment in China.
