Editor’s Note:Li Qiushun is director of the village committee of Dongwang,a village in Ganlin,a town in Shengzhou,which is administered by Shaoxing,in East Chinafs Zhejiang Province.For years,Li and his family have promoted the traditional art and culture of Yue Opera.They have also encouraged residents to build their hometown into a beautiful village.Dongwang was named a“model of new village”in Shaoxing in 2017.The village has an opera stage,and a special venue for promoting the charm of Yue Opera.Li and his family believe the inheritance of Yue Opera has brought a vigorous change to the development of Dongwang.
