摘要
史诗作为一个多义名词,不仅指称一种文体,还蕴含着一种美学概念,即史诗品格。按照黑格尔的史诗观,拜伦的《唐璜》严格意义上来说不是一部标准的史诗。但它作为一首讽刺体长诗,又从宏大的时代主题、宏伟的题材选择、跳跃的画面布置三个角度,彰显出显著的史诗性质,即表现社会激烈的矛盾冲突,以人物形象的自由意志弘扬时代精神,惨烈的战争场面造就其广阔性,以上皆为史诗产生所必须的一般世界情况的重要方面,展现了《唐璜》作为史诗题材作品应具备的特质。
Epic,as a noun with multi-sense,is not only refers to a kind of literary style,but also implies an aesthetic concept,that is,the epic character.From the perspective of Hegel's thought of epic,Byron's Don Juan is not standard.But as a long satiric poem,it shows the obvious character of epic from three aspects,the grand theme of the time,the significant subject and skipped picture layout.The most important factors of an epic includes the conflict that present the drastic social contradictions,the time spirit that advanced by characters'free will and the extensity that created by tragic battle scenes.
