摘要
培养学生思辨能力是中学英语教学的重要目标之一,而英语教师是实现这一教学目标的关键因素。本课题采用定性个案研究法对广西一所地方中学英语八名教师的思辨能力进行问卷调查、课堂观察以及访谈,发现:参与研究的英语教师具有基本的思辨能力和积极的批判性思维倾向,但程度普遍不高。他们在课堂教学中所应用的思辨技能以及讲授思辨技能的水平都不容乐观。据此,建议在教师准备、培养项目和教师日常教学中加大思辨能力的培养。
To foster students’critical thinking ability is one of the key goals in high school English teach⁃ing,and English teachers are crucial to achieve this goal.Adopting a case study method,this study examined criti⁃cal thinking ability of eight English teachers in a high school in Guangxi through surveys,class observations,and interviews.The multiple data point to the findings that these English teachers have positive critical dispositions,but slightly higher than the standard line.The critical ability that these teachers demonstrate and convey in their class teaching are both unsatisfactorily low.Accordingly,this author suggests that critical thinking ability should be emphasized in teacher preparation and development programs and in daily teaching life.
