2019年,英国老牌的戏剧和表演艺术周刊《舞台》(The Stage)总结出了去年英国戏剧界最有影响力的100个人。名列第一的不是演员或导演,而是一名建筑师。建筑师名叫史蒂夫·汤姆金斯(Steve Tompkins),是Haworth Tompkins建筑事务所的主理人。他曾经给英国的多个重要剧院做过改造和修复工作,其中包括英国宫廷剧院(the Royal Court)、新维克剧院(YoungVic)、英国国家剧院(National Theatre)、利物浦的大众剧院(Liverpool Everyman Theatre),并于2014年凭借利物浦的大众剧院获得了英国建筑大奖斯特灵奖(RIBA Stirling Prize)。
In 2019,The Stage,a classical weekly arts magazine about British drama and performing arts,made a rank list for the top 100 influential people in British drama,and the first one was an architect but not an actor.Steve Tompkins,the architect appeared on the top of that rank list,is the director of Haworth Tompkins Architecture.He has reconstructed several important theatres in the UK,including Royal Court Theatre,Young Vic Theatre,National Theatre,and Liverpool Everyman Theatre.
