摘要
“宝玉挨打”是《红楼梦》中的关键情节之一。阅读这一情节,可以知悉作者之于小说情节的经营艺术之高妙。引发宝玉挨打的导火线有三条:一是雨村来访,宝玉状态不佳;二是琪官失踪,王府上门要人;三是金钏投井,贾环借机进谗。曹雪芹从远处蓄势,渐渐逼来,将这三条导火线凑聚在同一时间段,逐级点燃,共同聚向“宝玉挨打”的情节高峰。“宝玉挨打”牵动荣国府上下各色人等情感与利益,他的祖母、母亲、嫂子、姐妹、贴身丫鬟等人分层出场。场面虽然激烈,描叙却一丝不乱,过程层次井然,高潮迭起,峰峦聚向“大过节,大关键”情节的制高点。此后,曹雪芹又设计了关联度比较高的其他情节,作为越过高峰后的余脉,峰回峦低,逶迤而去。
“Baoyu s Suffering Beating”is one of the key plots in A Dream of Red Mansions,from the reading of which we can explore the author s mastery of the art composing in this novel.There were three fuses that triggered Baoyu s being beaten:one was that Baoyu was not in a good state when Yucun came to visit;the other was that the hosts came officially to look for her after the disappearance of Qiguan;and the last one was that Jia Huan took the opportunity to slander him after Jinchuan jumped into the well.Cao Xueqin purposely composed the story ahead of time and made it develop step by step by gathering the three fuses together in a certain period of time and ignited them one by one,and finally to the climax of Baoyu s being beaten.“Baoyu s Suffering Beating”affected the emotions and interests of various people in Rongguo Mansion,and characters at different level including Baoyu s grandmother,mother,sister-in-law,sisters,personal maids and other people appeared successively.Although the scene was fierce,the description was not disorderly.The whole process was well organized with orderly layers and successive sub-climaxes and with all the peaks being gathered to the dominating height of the“Big Event and Key Plot”,after which Cao Xueqin again designed other plots with higher degree of correlation as the gradually disappearing remnants after the overturning of the peak.
