Objective To evaluate the effect of minimally invasive percutaneous locking and compression plate internal fixation for the treatment of distal radius fractures. Methods A total of 379 patients with distal radius fractures from January 2016 to January 2019 were enrolled. The observation group(n=190) and the control group(n=189) were divided according to the surgical plan.In the control group, open reduction and internal fixation were performed. The observation group underwent minimally invasive percutaneous locking and compression plate internal fixation. The fracture recovery grade, complication rate, and ankle function(Kofoed score) were compared between the two groups before and 6 months after surgery. Results The fracture recovery grade of the observation group was better than that of the control group(P<0.05).The Kofoed scores of the two groups were increased at 6 months after operation, and the observation group was higher than the control group. The difference was statistically significant(P<0.05);the incidence of complications in the observation group was 1.58%(3/190) compared with 3.17%(6/189) in the control group, and the difference was not statistically significant(P>0.05).Conclusion Minimally invasive percutaneous locking and compression plate internal fixation for the treatment of distal radius fractures has significant fracture healing and less complications, which can effectively restore ankle joint function.
