Streetlight is a charity in the Philippines, which supports families within the informal settlement of"Seawall"to help get their children off the street and into school. In 2010,three Norwegian architecture students initiated a partnership with the organisation to design and build a study centre that would provide a supportive environment for the kids to study, and a place for them to have breakfast and lunch, which they would often go without.Working with the parents, from concept to construction through to the use, running and maintenance of the study centre, the project managed to address important underlying issues that the families were facing and have a far-reaching impact on the community beyond the original client scope.
