1 城市空间文化表达的相关研究及其启示城市空间及其文化表达,一直是中外规划师、建筑师、园林景观师共同关注、潜心研究的课题,且有丰富的研究成果。例如美国著名城市理论家、社会哲学家刘易斯· 芒福德博士,在《城市发展史》中,就发表了对城市空间与人类文明、城市文化的独特见解。他认为:“城市从其起源时代开始便是一种特殊的构造,它专门用来储存并流传人类文明的成果;这种构造致密而紧凑,足以用最小的空间容纳更多的设施;同时又能扩大自身的结构,以适应不断变化的需求和社会发展更加繁复的形式,从而保存不断积累起来的社会遗产。”
1.Researches and Enlightenment on Cultural Expression of Urban Spaces Worldwide Urban space and its cultural expression have always been the subject of much speculation and has been studied by planners,architects and landscape architects both at home as well as abroad.For instance,Dr.Lewis Mumford,a famous American urbanologist and social philosopher,expresses his insights on urban space,human civilization and urban culture in The City in History:“The city has been a special structure since its origin,and it is specifically designed to store and spread the fruits of human civilization;this structure is dense and compact enough to accommodate more facilities with minimal space;meanwhile,it can also expand its own structure to adapt to changing needs and more complex forms of social development,thus the accumulated social heritage can be preserved.”
