摘要
诗歌本身是一种具有文学价值和审美价值的文体,诗歌英译则也需要展现出原诗的美学特点。许渊冲先生提出的翻译原则"三美论",即意美、音美、形美,恰好体现了美学在翻译活动中的运用。因译者对文本的理解不同,产生了不同审美的译文。本文分析王维《相思》的三个英译本,来探讨诗歌翻译过程中"三美论"的运用及其不足。
Poetry itself is a style with literary and aesthetic values,so the English translated versions of a Chinese poem also include the aesthetic characteristics of the original version.Xu Yuanchong has come up with the theory of“Three Beauties”in poetry translation,namely,“beauty in sound,beauty in form,beauty in image”,which reflects the aesthetic features in translation activities.As different translators have different understandings of a poem,they show the different versions with different aesthetic characteristics.The study analyzes three English versions of“Xiang Si”to demonstrate the application of“Three Beauties”and the deficiencies of the three versions.
