摘要
长江三峡工程是当今世界上最大的水利枢纽工程,其库区地震研究一直受到有关各方的高度重视。在选坝勘测工作同时,即开展了工程区及外围的地震地质研究工作。1958年建立三峡地震监测台网并监测至今,1972年起开展综合性地震研究,20世纪80年代开展水库诱发地震专题研究,运用多种先进理论和方法对三峡水库诱发地震潜在危险性进行了预测。预测结果表明,三峡水库可能诱发的最大地震震级不超过5.5级,低于该地区本底地震水平。施工期进一步开展了地震、地形变、地下流体、主要断层活动性等方面的强化观测工作。三峡水库蓄水运行后地震活动的实际状况证明,水库诱发地震级别保持在前期预测的水平范围之内。
Three Gorges Project is the largest hydraulic project at present in the world and the seismic research on reservoir area of the Three Gorges Project has attracted lots of attention by departments and groups concerned.Site investigation and seismic geological research at the dam site and its surrounding areas were carried out simultaneously.The earthquake monitoring network for Three Gorge area was established in 1958 and has operated up to now.Comprehensive earthquake research was carried out since 1972.In the 1980s,we initiated the special research on reservoir induced earthquake,in which the potential risk of the earthquake induced by Three Gorges Reservoir(TGR)was predicted by a variety of advanced theories and methods.The prediction indicates that the potential TGR-induced maximum earthquake grade is lower than 5.5,which is even lower than that of the background earthquake in the area.During the construction period,the monitoring and observation of earthquake,geodetic deformation,underground fluid and major faults activity were further studied.The actual seismicity of the TGR after its impoundment proves that the reservoir induced earthquake grade is within the range predicted in the early stage.
