摘要
近年来,观鲸旅游业在国内外得到迅速发展,该产业被社会各界认为是取代捕鲸业的一种更可持续的鲸类资源利用方式。通过回顾从捕鲸到观鲸的演变历史,介绍国际捕鲸委员会(International Whaling Commission,IWC)和国际爱护动物基金会(International Fund for Animal Welfare,IFAW)为推动观鲸旅游业发展做出的努力,进一步分析全球观鲸旅游业概况,包括观鲸者数量变化、消费统计、观鲸业区域分布、不同国家和地区的观鲸业发展及观鲸业提供的就业情况等。在总结国外经验的基础上,分析了观鲸旅游业遇到的管理问题,并结合中国观鲸业发展情况,提出指导中国观鲸业健康发展的启示。
Whale watching industry has been growing rapidly globally in recent years,and for many scholars it has become a more sustainable alternative for whaling.The history from whaling to whale watching was reviewed,and special efforts made by International Whaling Commission and International Fund for Animal Welfare were briefly introduced.Global status of whale watching was elaborated on,including number changes of whale watchers,expenditures,distribution of whale watchers,development of whale watching in different countries and regions,and the employment provided by whale watching etc.At the end,the successful foreign experiences were summarized,management problems concerning whale watching were put forward and analyzed,and suggestions were made to promote the healthy development of whale watching in China.
